April Update

This month, Keira tested for her D1 and D2 Rating for Pony Club. She passed. Congratulations, Keira, Daddy and I are proud.
Keira is spending the front part of this week at Memaw's and then we are on our way to Rolex in Lexington, KY on Wednesday for the remainder of the week.
We want to also say congratulations to Clint Jones and Twylla Berry on their marriage. May you have many happy years together. We love you guys.

March 3, Rainy and Cool

Hi, so it's wet and cool here today in the Tupelo area. It stormed for some quite sometime this morning, but at 8:10 am, now it seems quiet. I hope the storms have moved on.
Yesterday, we all had a good day when we loaded up at 7 in the morning as a family and traveled to Alabama in pursuit of an SUV for me. We were pleased with the vehicle we got.
Hot Lava

It only had 13 miles on it!

Ethan, our salesman, he was
so helpful and super nice as well
as amusing and entertaining.
It is a 2016 RAV4, and with the coolest color that I had fallen in love with some months ago. We could have gotten the RAV4 in Tupelo, but not in the Hot Lava color I wanted. I knew if I had not gotten the color I wanted, I would have regretted it, so I'm glad we drove to Tuscumbia to get this
We all got what we wanted:)
one. We are all beyond pleased with the SUV. It rides nicely, looks cool, and has what we all wanted in it. I got the GPS package, the Moonroof, and the electronics that I wanted(phone through the car, CD/radio package, etc...), Keira got a movie player for the back seat, with two earphones,(YAY on the earphones, hahahaha), and Matt got a sweet deal, plus the Titanium wheels he wanted on the SUV. Keira is my little electronics expert. She is absolutely perfect with figuring out the navigational and electronic stuff on the car already. She will have to teach me.
The little doggies jumped inside
the car first thing and left tracks, so
we'll have to place a covering
on the seats if they travel in
this car. :)

Spring Is On Its Way

I am so happy to have had a warm day yesterday, and it looks like it's going to be another warm one today. Let's hope. :)
Yesterday, Keira and I began homeschooling, and we made it through our Math class when the men who are working on our house arrived. It was noisy, and the dogs were beyond disturbed at having strangers working just outside the window, and so school was dismissed for the remainder of the day. However, I told Keira that today, we would have to continue with school despite the distractions.
Right now, it is 7:24 and everything is quiet. For now. I usually get Keira out of bed around 8, feed her breakfast, she bathes, and then we began school around 9, and finish four hours later. It's really working out quite well, and we both are enjoying the process. She seems more satisfied, and I am feeling more accomplished with my days. I do enjoy writing, and I'm not quitting, but this is the best move for Keira and me. I am glad I made the choice to pull her from school. There are a lot of negatives with the school system that I do not agree with, and so it was just time to do it.

Keira had another great ride at the barn yesterday. She certainly loves being there and loves Kim and Chandler to the moon and back. I am so pleased to have met Kim and Chandler.  Chandler is the best teenage mentor I could have hoped for to be a part of Keira's life, and Kim is the best Barn Mom. She is always looking out for us other moms and guiding us with her knowledge. I really do appreciate all that she does for our kids and us parents. Thank you, Kim. I love you more than you know.:)
Olaf cantered yesterday! Yay! It is so awesome to see Keira in her happy place. She loves nothing more than to be at that barn and to work with the horses and ponies. And she loves her barn buddies dearly.
Matt is at work of course. He usually rises around 4 am for work but gets home at various times, depending on whether they are working overtime. I am so proud of him and the accomplishments he's made at his job. If it were not for his hard work and dedication, I would not be able to stay home and homeschool Keira. Thank you, Matt, for all that you do. We love you.
Okay, the oven has just preheated, so it's time for me to put the biscuits in and began breakfast. I hope you all have a great day.

The First Hints of Spring 2016

Gorgeous Olaf
Yesterday, we had a lovely warm day, and the first hints of Spring were upon us. I took Keira to the Equestrian Center where she rides, and then came home and did a bit of housecleaning. Fun, right? lol Okay, I confess, I did some work for the radio show I am a part of and did a bit of writing on one of my Works in Progress(I'm an Indie Author), and I worked on  my Author's Blog, Lisa's Place. :)
While I worked, Matt went to work at Toyota.
When I returned to Brewer, I found Keira with her riding friends still having fun in the saddle, and took a few pictures. Yes, I love pictures. :)
Keira has been training two ponies since Timmy left and she loves them already. So let me introduce to you, Olaf and Cookie.
Olaf was found on the side of the road, and taken to a Kill Pen. Chandler and her parents, Donnie, and Kim bought Olaf and brought him to Brewer's Equestrian, where Keira and Chandler have been working with him. When he first arrived, he had an issue about his ears. He did not like anyone touching them, but he seems to be getting over the issue quite well now. We are so proud of you,                                                                                                       Olaf, and thank you for taking good care of Keira.                                                   We look forward to many good times with you.

Cookie
Cookie belongs to one of the families
at the barn, but Keira gets
the privilege of riding
her. Cookie, as you can see,
is a beautiful, sweet
darling. Keira is enjoying riding and
training Cooke. We love you, Cookie, and look
forward to seeing you blossom.

New Posts- New things Happening

Hello, and thank you for following us. In this post, I'm going to place simply some pictures and let them tell our story thus far. For the most part, it's been all about Equestrian for the last few years. Keira has fallen in love with English Riding and is participating in shows. Most recently she and I traveled to Bowling Green, KY for a Pony Club Quiz Rally, where their Quiz team got 3rd place. Not too bad for a new team. Fellow team member, Mimi, ( 3rd girl from left, and next to Keira), received 6th  individually for overall performance. Congrats, Mimi.

Keira had to say goodbye to a good friend recently. It was a difficult time for her, but a valuable lesson as well. I have to admit, I will miss sweet Timmy as well. He was the first pony Keira had ridden and so there will always be a special place for him in her heart, and I'm sure he will miss her as well. In our sad moments of saying goodbye, I wrote Keira a heartfelt note to which she said she was grateful for and helped her to see that though it's sad to say goodbye, it's also an exciting time for Timmy, and specifically, it was the best thing for him. I am going to load more pictures and file them on here under Gallery.
Matt and I are doing well. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful, smart daughter and we are so proud of her.  Matt is still working with Toyota and has promoted with the company. Keira and I are Homeschooling now and we're having fun and learning things together. More of that to come in future posts.

Keira has learned some valuable things this week: She learned that saying goodbye is never easy, that being brave is hard, and that sometimes, love hurts. However, she knows that bravery is the only way to face life's challenges to accomplish the desired goal, she knows that loving is better than not, even through the hard goodbyes. Keira has found that loving Timmy so much and wishing him the best in his future, is the only way that she can move on to hers. I reminded her last night that Timmy has a new job, but so does she. Ms. Chandler Head has tasks for Keira at the barn that is only meant for Keira as the new humans for Timmy has tasks for him that only he can accomplish. If Timmy could speak, he would wish Keira the best of fortune with her life, and Keira wishes Timmy the best in his. Keira and I agreed we could not wait to see what Timmy accomplishes in the next few years in Oklahoma. And, who knows, he might show up at Kentucky in 2018, competing against Keira and Olaf(wouldn't that be a hoot?)lol Kim Davis Head, I wish you could have seen Keira's face glowing when I told her that you said, Timmy would never forget her. She smiled and said, "Really, he won't forget me?" And I told her that is what Mrs. Kim says. So as we say, "See Ya Later, Timmy, " Not Goodbye, Keira moves on to a sweet little pony named Cookie, She will be working with Cookie and will be showing her in the future. And may I say, dang they sure are cute together, and then there is the new guy, Olaf. Olaf is depending on Keira to show him the way. Olaf to my understanding,( and Kim, Chandler, correct me if I get the facts wrong), was found on the side of a road, brought to a kill pen, and then taken in by some folks who placed him in a small paddock. And then Chandler got him. And now Keira gets to show Olaf how love feels, she gets to bathe him, groom him, hug him, love him, train him, and eventually show him. So, yeah, it's hard to say goodbye, sweetheart, but look at the love you have just been awarded for your bravery and the love you gave to Timmy. You have not one, but two little ponies that are depending on you to show them the way, and love has no boundaries, your heart is big enough to love Timmy, Olaf, and Cookie, and many more ponies that grace your life. So, Keira, keep loving, keep being brave, and keep working hard, and the rewards will be boundless, and you can be proud of the young woman that only the love of a pony can create.
