September

I know, I can never seem to keep up with my posts. :) Sorry. I will try to do better.  In the meantime, here's the update on us for September. The school session has begun. We have elected to remain in our homeschool program, with A Beka. I like their belief system and their teaching tools. I tried their  video program but we discovered it simply was not for us. I am now teaching her at our speed. Keira is still riding, but is also going to be involved with the Willie and the Chocolat Factory play this fall. She is having a blast and we are very proud of her. If you are interested in seeing some of her amusing riding videos, you can find them here.

Slick and Matt. They have liked
one another from their first meeting.
I wish we had a place to house him so we
could buy Slick for Matt.
He works many hours, but he has gained a new friend.
Regarding me, I'm currently working diligently on new stories, adventuring in radio as a BlogTalkRadio host with my writing partner, Linda. L. Barton. We are having a blast and have been blessed with some pretty awesome guests. I am also working on numerous other projects, but you can find out more about that if you're interested at Lisa's Place or Deadly Reads.

Olaf, isn't he so darn cute?

Summer 2016

This summer has been uneventful.  We did not vacation anywhere but remained in Tupelo, but our sweet little dogs have entertained us immensely. Keira rode a few times at the farm where she takes English riding lessons, and we went swimming. She has spent several nights with friends and has had friends at our home for days at a time. But, I suppose that is what summer is for. :) And I love all of her little friends and enjoy having them visit.
We have been looking for a church for quite awhile since we left the previous one. We have enjoyed the churches we have visited, but I think we have finally found one that will be suitable. It has a large youth group for Keira, and she will have a great program on Wednesday evenings as well as Sunday and Sunday evenings. I am happy for her, my little sweetheart loves going to church, so thankfully, I have found one that will be good for her.
Matt is working of course, and I am keeping busy with writing and of course preparing for my and Keira's newest endeavor-Homeschool. We began homeschool in January and finished in May. Now, it's time to start school, and we will be taking our homeschool program with A Beka Academy Homeschool. It is a Christian program from Pensacola, Florida, and is fully accredited. This means that she will receive a diploma from them, and a graduation as well. I like this program because through their online or video program; she can participate in a virtual classroom, with a real teacher and a class of students. I will still teach her as well as administering tests to her and sending the tests to A Beka for record keeping. She will have access to tutors via phone should she need extra help, so that is a really nice thing about this program. We homeschool moms are not left to do this alone. There are also homeschool programs we can involve ourselves in locally so I like that too.
Sorry, I've not shared much lately, but I'll try to do better. :) In the meantime, enjoy the updated pictures when I get them on here. :)

Our Trip to Kentucky

Keira and I took a trip to Kentucky for the 2016 Rolex at the Kentucky Horse Park. We had a good time the first day as she and I sat down and watched the first day of Dressage Testing. We then returned to the hotel and swam for awhile, and she played video games as well. The next day was a bit more fun as friends, and fellow Equestrians from our horse barn came. We spent the remainder of the week with them and had a fantastic time with them.
Friday was the second day of Dressage Testing, Saturday was Cross Country, and Sunday was spent in the arena.
We enjoyed watching the competitors and meeting some of them. They were all nice and extremely kind to Keira, encouraging her to live her dream and reminded her that her hard work would one day pay off, and come to the Rolex with her horse.
On our trip to Kentucky, we stopped by Murfreesboro, Tn and visited my sister, Bonnie. It is always a pleasure to see them all, and we had a nice time with them.
While in Lexington, KY., we visited Grandma(Matthew's mother, Barbara), and had dinner with her. We enjoyed going with her as she fed several stray cats that live near her apartment.
Below are some pictures of our trip. We've already made plans to attend the Rolex again next year.

April Update

This month, Keira tested for her D1 and D2 Rating for Pony Club. She passed. Congratulations, Keira, Daddy and I are proud.
Keira is spending the front part of this week at Memaw's and then we are on our way to Rolex in Lexington, KY on Wednesday for the remainder of the week.
We want to also say congratulations to Clint Jones and Twylla Berry on their marriage. May you have many happy years together. We love you guys.
